DTF Transfers – Frequently Asked Questions

What is a DTF Transfer?

DTF (Direct-to-Film) transfers are full-color, heat-applied prints that are produced on a special film and then transferred onto fabric using a heat press. They're vibrant, durable, and work on almost any fabric type — including cotton, polyester, and blends.

What can I put a DTF transfer on?

DTF transfers can be applied to most fabric surfaces, including t-shirts, onesies, hoodies, tote bags, hats, and more. They work best on flat, smooth fabric areas.

How do I place an order for DTF transfers?

Browse our custom products and select your personalization options at checkout, or contact us directly to discuss a custom transfer order. We'll guide you through the process!

What file format do you need for custom designs?

For the best results, please provide your artwork in one of the following formats:

  • PNG with transparent background (preferred)
  • PDF (vector-based)
  • AI or EPS files

Minimum resolution: 300 DPI at print size. We cannot guarantee print quality for low-resolution files.

What are your turnaround times?

Since all of our items are made to order, please allow 5-7 business days for production. Rush orders may be available — reach out to ask!

How do I care for a garment with a DTF transfer?

To keep your transfer looking its best:

  • Wash inside out in cold water
  • Tumble dry on low or hang dry
  • Do not iron directly on the transfer
  • Avoid bleach and dry cleaning

Are DTF transfers the same as screen printing or HTV?

Not quite! DTF transfers offer more detail and color range than HTV (heat transfer vinyl) and don't require screens like traditional screen printing. They're a great option for small runs, custom one-offs, and multi-color designs.
